Legendary filmmaker Yann Arthus-Bertrand has released HUMAN, a collection of stories about and images of our world, offering an immersion to the core of what it means to be human, and presenting a series of perspectives on human rights and social justice.
HUMAN is a politically engaged work which allows us to embrace the human condition and to reflect on the meaning of our existence.
EJI participated in the making of the film, and we are honored to present these short clips as an ongoing feature. In this video, a mother discusses her work in a garbage dump in Mbeubeuss, Senegal, where she collects garbage, shoes, scraps of fabric. She is proud of her work, because it allows her to earn a living and be an independent woman.
