EJI’s 25th Anniversary Celebration will be on Monday, March 31, 2014, in New York City.
EJI opened in February 1989 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. We started initially as the Alabama Capital Representation Resource Center and then moved to Montgomery, where our primary office has been located ever since. Our name changed in 1994 but the work continued.
This year we will celebrate our 25th Anniversary with a dinner and reception in New York City. Many lawyers with whom we’ve worked, former clients, staff, friends, and donors will join us to celebrate.
All friends and supporters of EJI are invited to the reception and dinner at the Rosenthal Pavilion in New York, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Tickets and tables can be purchased by calling EJI at 334.269.1803.
Former EJI interns, fellows, and employees are also invited to join us prior to dinner for an Alumni Reception beginning at 4:00 p.m.
At last year’s benefit, EJI honored former president and director-counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund Elaine Jones and Ben & Jerry’s Homemade, Inc., co-founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, and Grammy Award-winning artist Roberta Flack performed.
