The Equal Justice Initiative has again earned a perfect overall score of 100 and a top four-star rating by Charity Navigator, the nation’s largest and most-utilized evaluator of charities.
Charity Navigator’s rating system examines two areas of performance: Financial Health and Accountability & Transparency. Its ratings reflect how efficiently it believes a charity will use support today, how well it has sustained its programs and services over time, and the charity’s level of commitment to good governance, best practices, and openness with information.
For years, EJI has earned a perfect score of 100 out of 100 on both Financial Health and Accountability & Transparency. Of the thousands of charities rated by Charity Navigator, less than 1% receive perfect combined scores.
EJI also continues to earn an A+ grade and be listed as a top civil rights charity from Charity Watch.
EJI is committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, challenging racial and economic injustice, and protecting the basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society.
